My interest in coaching was sparked when I became a programme manager for a UK government funded mentoring and coaching organisation called Chance UK, 6 years ago. Here, I trained extensively in Solution Focused Brief Therapy at the Brief Therapy Practice in London. I became increasingly aware of the immense benefits of coaching people towards their preferred futures, rather than focussing on past issues or causes.

Based on this experience, I decided against pursuing my original goal of becoming a psychotherapist and instead set up my own coaching practice for women. Since its inception in 2001 WLC has grown primarily through word of mouth.

For me, becoming a life coach is a natural culmination of the years of studying, professional experience, reading and self development I have done to date. My coaching is guided by a commitment to living with integrity, self awareness and creativity. I am particularly passionate about helping other women find work that reflects their purpose and passion in life.

Interests

Travel: I have travelled extensively. To read more about my experiences, you can access my travel website here

Journaling: I have kept a journal for many years and often integrate journal exercises into my coaching. I am particularly inspired by the ideas of Julia Cameron in 'The Artists Way'.

Freelance writing: I write for magazines on a freelance basis and have been published in a number of women's, health, parenting and work magazines.

Communal Living: I believe that there are major benefits to be gained from living communally: shared resources, on-tap child care, less isolation and opportunities to live simply and less expensively. Although my husband and I do not live communally at present it is a shared goal.
